Biography

Kirk Pasich is the leader of Liner's Insurance Recovery Group.

According to Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business, Kirk is one of the country's best-known and respected lawyers. He represents insureds in a wide range of disputes with insurers and insurance brokers, and focuses on maximizing the value of clients’ insurance portfolios. Kirk has handled more than 60 trials and arbitrations and more than 50 appellate proceedings. Since 2006, Kirk has helped clients obtain more than $5 billion in insurance recoveries. He is a prolific author and speaker, and his articles have been cited and quoted by numerous courts.

Kirk has been lead counsel in matters throughout California and in Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, and Vermont, as well as in Bermuda and England. Kirk has obtained several verdicts for his clients that have been ranked among the 10 largest jury verdicts of the year in California. He also has argued many times before California and federal appellate courts. Kirk has obtained key appellate decisions on insurance, the attorney-client privilege, procedural issues, and various other subjects.

Insurance Recovery
Kirk has handled matters regarding insurance coverage for asbestos liabilities; advertising liabilities; business interruption and extra expense claims; class action settlements; class actions; copyright, patent, and trademark infringement; crime and fidelity losses; directors and officers liabilities; earthquakes, fires, floods, hurricanes, and other natural disaster losses; employment, discrimination, and harassment claims; entertainment industry liabilities and production losses; environmental and pollution losses; errors and omissions claims; Internet, domain, and computer virus losses; political risk; products liability; statutory violations; utility and energy claims and losses; and warranty and representation claims.

He also represents many institutions and individuals in the entertainment and sports industries in a wide range of insurance coverage matters, including handling claims and litigation under production and cast insurance policies, errors and omissions and multimedia policies, event cancellation and non-appearance policies, liability policies, and property policies.

Kirk also represents clients in substantial claims against insurance brokers.

Commercial Litigation
In addition to his insurance recovery work, Kirk has handled substantial commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract, fiduciary duty and fraud claims, construction disputes, idea submission and copyright infringement claims, professional malpractice claims, real estate disputes, and tax-related claims.

Entertainment Matters
Kirk has represented individuals and entities in the entertainment industry for 30 years. His clients have included major and independent motion picture studios and production companies, record companies, actors, directors, authors, and musicians. He has worked with some of the most successful recording artists of all time, and has had the privilege of hosting a series of private concerts. A former music critic and personal manager, Kirk has represented his clients in negotiating a wide range of contracts and in litigation. Kirk also is the president of an independent record label.
